JVC LT-32J300 32" Class (31.5" Diagonal) Full HD 1080p LCD TV Review

I bought this TV for our master bedroom to replace a 20" CRT. It is a great set with excellent picture and sound. The one small complaint I have is the print on the on-screen menus is a little hard to read from the bed across the room. This might not be an issue for most people. We have the TV located 16' from the head of the bed. The remote is easy to use. Setup and connection was easy. The set was shipped by J&R and a signature is required for receipt. J&R added extra padding to ensure a safe trip.

Slow channel changes but great sound & picture. - M. Simon - Chicago, IL USA
I thought the sound and picture were outstanding. However, the slow time moving from channel to channel was very annoying to me. Even jumping to favorites was slow.

My unit had a problem in that it would freeze up a few times a week, making the remote ineffective. I had to manually press the power button on the TV. I called JVC and they said I needed a software upgrade. I downloaded & installed it but the same lock-up occurred only now, to restart it, I had to unplug it as the power button also froze. I again called JVC & they sent me a UBS flashdrive with the update loaded on it... didn't work. JVC then said I had the option to take it to a service center or return it. I did the latter. I didn't exchange it because I didn't want to take the chance that the lockup would be a bug in all of this model. But I didn't see any complaints on this from any other reviewers.

I had paid a reasonable 9 for the unit a month & a half prior to the return and then found that the price had dropped to 9 and at another dealer to 9. Suspiciously cheap for a TV that Amazon says retails for 9. Checked out other TVs on Consumer Reports and based on their reviews and many customer reviews decided to wait until the features of all these LCD TVs improve. I hate to wait because these converter boxes, mostly paid for by the government are crap.

Great picture quality! - Jan -
I ordered this HDTV based on reviews and the price. It is the best quality picture of any HDTV I have
seen!

Good mid sized TV - Art E. Misia - USA
This TV got a very good rating in Consumer Reports. Knowing nothing about TVs, I purchased it without really having any idea whether it would live up to its reviews. It was easy to set up, and the picture and sound quality are very good. The viewing angle is worth noting...it's visible from a a very wide angle, unlike a lot of other tvs I've seen. No complaints here.

Great Price Panasonic TC-L32G1 for $469.00

Panasonic VIERA G1 Series TC-L32G1 32-Inch 720p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

We purchased the TC-L32G1 in January after a bad experience with a TC-L32S1 in December (see my review there). The TC-L32G1 has worked great. The initial set up was easy and the colors, contrast, controls are good. We like the features. The only down side is the sound. It is more than adequate for our bedroom. We do notice a difference in sound between some channels so the volume variance in some cases is due to the broadcasting station. If you are purchasing this TV for a living or family room you will probably want to invest in a surround sound system. The overall purchase experience with Amazon was A+. I would recommend this TV for a bedroom or an office or den.

Superb LCD - outlaw164 - Florida
Really enjoying my Panny 32 inch in the bedroom. What a difference from my old Sony 19 inch analog set! Just the right size considering my viewing distance. Don't experience low volume as many reviewers have attested. Setup was a no-brainer, just read the instructions provided and follow the on-screen menus. Picture quality is awesome - bright and crystal clear. Remote is easy to learn. Just wished I'd taken the leap much earlier to enjoy my favorite late-night shows in outstanding color balance and clarity. Big thumbs up!

Love Panasonic - Bruce Lee - Burbank, CA, U.S.A.
We are very please and happy with the price we paid at Amazon. Panasonic has a good quality picture, sound and good product. For those who do not have pay cable and using roof top antenna, the reception are great and in HD reception. Very very clear pictures with regular antenna. Hope this will help your decision. Thanks.

Ok except missing analog audio output that was listed in specs - RK Tally - Florida
We like this TV, but had to replace a stolen TV and needed one with analog audio output so we can play TV sound on stereo system and this doesn't do it. We chose this model for that reason becasue the online specs said it had one. However, when we got the TV ther was no analog audio output jack. So we had to go out and purchase an new receiver to use the digital audio out from the new TV. We spent more on the TV than our insurance paid to get the analog audio out and then had to pay for a new receiver, so are out of pocket over 0.

Great Price Panasonic TC-L37G1 for $739.77

Panasonic VIERA G1 Series TC-L37G1 37-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

I bought this TV after months of research and monitoring reviews, this is the best 37 inch TV on the market. I actually purchased a Samsung 37B650 sight unseen prior to this TV; however I went to BB to see the Sammy in action and decided to return it because of the high glare from the screen. If you have any type of light near or around the Sammy you will be disappointed. I am so glad I went with this TV, the colors are accurate and the picture quality is as good as the Sammy. The sound is fine and picture from my PS3 is fantastic. The real bonus is the price; this TV is well worth the money. This is my second Panny, my other is a 50 inch plasma and I love them both. Get one before they are gone.

More than Satisfied with this purchase! - Lawrence C. Thomasy - Port Orange, FL
We were looking for the 37"S1 but they are all sold out. We have not owned any Panasonic TV and took the chance of ordering the G1 and we are satisfied.
The only problem we have is using the universal remote from our cable company with the TV and the Blu-ray DVD player we just bought. I determined that we are not quite familiar with the other devices interfacing with the TV. That it will come with experience.

I LOVE MY NEW TV!!!! - I. Zanni - Rhode Island
They say you don't know what you are missing until you have it....and it is so true in the case of my Panasonic HDTV. It fits perfectly (37"diagonal) into my cabinet, and has the most glorious picture.
The price and service were wonderful. I love it!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TV!!! - F. W. - New Jersey
I received the Panasonic TC-L37G1 on 1/7/10 just TWO DAYS after being ordered! Delivery was fabulous! They unpacked the TV, set it up and made sure it came on. TOP quality delivery!

The picture, sound and overall performance is way beyond my expectations! This is my first LCD HDTV and I cannot get over the clarity of this picture (using an HDMI 1.3 cable, of course). During my first week, I even watched all the commercials, because I was mesmerized by the picture clarity! I would recommend this LCD HDTV to anyone! I now have owned this TV for a little over 7 weeks and have put A LOT of viewing hours on it. And it is still performing as it did on 1/7/10.

PAN TC-L37G1 - T. Anderson - Kansas City
Was looking for a good set that would fit in a very expensive entertainment system. This is only 1 of 3 37" TV's that will fit in the 35.75" space, as this set is only 35.25" wide. Having owned only Samsung LED HDTV, I was not sure how the Panasonic would stack up. After some tweaking to the picture settings, this is a great HDTV. I don't use the sound, as everything goes through the bose system, but the picture is fantastic! Set up was easy!

Great Price Panasonic TC-L32C22 for Too low to display

Panasonic TC-L32C22 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

I am not an expert on LCD televisions, just someone in need of a new TV. It will ultimately be used in the bedroom, but for now it is in the family room. Although it is not a huge room, it opens to the kitchen and the ceiling is vaulted. For months I studied reviews of different models on the internet hoping to at least discover which manufacturers had the most service problems to avoid that aggravation, along with which brand had the best rated picture quality. I also visited showrooms to see what looked best to my eye.

After my research I narrowed my search to a 720p TV because although 1080p of course creates a higher quality picture, it isn't as critical on a 32 inch TV or smaller. Since new televisions usually appear in March, my plan was to buy a discontinued model and take advantage of clearance pricing. Unfortunately I waited too long and the two choices I'd focused on were both no longer available. This TV met my needs, the price was right and Panasonic was one of the two brands I'd settled on.

Light weight and easy to handle, out of the box all that was necessary was putting the stand together with a few screws and then attaching it with a few more to the television. I already had a composite video/audio cable which is good because Panasonic doesn't include one. The cable consists of three male plugs on each end -- one red, one white and one yellow. The red and white are for right and left audio and the yellow is video. There are ports on the back of the cable box and the TV with the same colors so it was easy to connect - video out on the cable box and video in on the TV. An extra step I took, in order to get my local stations' HD programs, was to hook up a basic inside antenna by screwing the antenna cable into the same named jack on the back of the TV. That gave me two advantages - I can see the HD content in full HD without increasing the cost of my basic cable plan - and if the cable goes out I can still watch TV.

I put the batteries(included) into the remote control and turned the TV on. The first screen asked for language preference (English, Spanish or French), next the option to select viewing mode - home use or store demonstration. Then the adjust picture screen came up and I left it at the default "vivid" (choices are vivid, standard, cinema, game or custom.) The darkness of your room will dictate what looks best, and the defaults are easy to change by clicking on the remote -- menu, tools, re-set to defaults. Then it goes to auto channel set-up, but if you are using a cable box you select "not used." If using an antenna, select "antenna" and then select "start" to scan the channels. Next is an option to label each of the inputs for - antenna, DVD player, cable box, etc. Then a screen appears to adjust the clock for the year, month, day hour and minute. The completion message is then displayed and you're done.

The TV can be hooked-up to a PC so it can be used as a monitor. I missed an episode of 24 during the Olympics. The network website permits viewing of the current season's episodes so I simply connected the HDMI cable from my laptop PC into the television's HDMI port on the back. That allowed me to watch the missed episode on TV rather than my small laptop screen.

The speakers are one-way 10 watt speakers and are typical of built-in television speakers. Note that there is no analog audio output or headphone jack. There is an optical digital audio output jack. I did not hook-up a receiver and separate speakers to improve the audio, at least not yet, but if superior sound is a concern, you will probably want to explore the possibilities.

The picture is absolutely fabulous and amazingly enough even when viewed at a severe angle, there is no quality degradation. My only complaint is that the volume doesn't change significantly as you increase it. The TV has an adequate maximum volume setting, but if the setting is at 30 and you want it a little louder you might have to go to 60 before you notice an increase in sound. The increments seem too small.

The TV has a shiny "piano" black case which some people feel is a maintenance problem, but fingerprints and dust wipe up beautifully with a microfiber cloth, and I like the appearance.

The set comes with a twelve month warranty, but I bought an extended warranty for an extra two years from square trade since this is a new model and as such has no history. I have been using the set for two weeks and so far it is completely trouble free, and I am very pleased with the purchase, but I will update the review if I experience any problems.

LG 32LH40 32-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Gloss Black Review

I recently purchased this for 9.

Price - great value. For the quality, I think this the best buy for a 32" bedroom TV
Picture Quality - crystal clear. Granted I'm comparing to a Pioneer Elite Plasma (not 1080p), but compared with what I've seen on other TV's, this is great.
Usability - Very easy to use, but the instructions left out all the information on how to use the USB feature, & calibrate the TV. There is a professional calibration menu that I'll need to search online to understand how to calibrate the picture.

Overall I love the TV & would absolutely recommend this. I purchased it over a Samsung pure because the price was more attractable for the features. Nice work LG!

Excellent HDTV! - Shilom - MI
We picked this up for our house, worried about losing size (we have a small home and our previous was a 37" non flat-32 was the biggest widescreen that would fit), but the quality more than makes up for it! Going from a regular tv to an HD, and with blu-ray at that, amazing! I can't believe we waited as long as we did. We compared side by side at the store prior to ordering on Amazon, and LG by far had the best screen and look in our opinion. we love this tv and that there are enough hook ups to always have our Wii, PS3 and cable hooked up. Highly recommended!

LG did it AGAIN. NOT S-IPS! - turkinwisconsin - Milwaukee, WI USA
LG did it again...

This is my second LG in a week or so.I returned 32LH30 because LG switched to AU Optronics LCD panels and mine was one of the inferior paneled TVs. After returning LH30 I ordered this one thinking Amazon description should be true about LH40's S-IPS panels.

It is not. LG very recently started using panels other than S-IPS on LH40s.My TV was manufactured in Feb. 2010 and it does not have the S-IPS panel-technology.

The picture quality is slightly better than LH30's most probably because of 120 Hz refreshing and 1:70,000 contrast ratio. But it is nowhere near an IPS panel LCD TV quality. I regret buying this. But my wife does not want to do without a TV so I will have to keep this. If I knew LH40s did not have S-IPS either I would not have paid the extra 200 dollars price difference for this TV and I would have kept the cheaper LH30 (429 dollars).

LG's official USA website does not list S-IPS panels as a specification of 32LH40 anymore.Check it out yourself.

Love this TV - A. Tierno - NH United States
This tv is a great buy. We purchased it in October and have had no problem with it and love the quality of the picture. We bought it for our bedrooom so we could move the big clunkly entertainment center and tv out and it really transformed the space. It is very easy to use, has a sleep timer which is very important to me and was easy, although time consuming, to install. I highly recommend this product.

Check Out Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV for Too low to display

Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Review

I recently purchased the Panasonic 32" HDTV. I had a problem setting up the TV, with a blocky image, fading colors, and downright poor image quality. I am not especially technically minded, but neither am I a novice, and my problem was with a manual that is not very thorough in its explanations beyond the basics. However, I called the support people and they were polite, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Within 5 minutes the technician had identified the problem and told me how to correct it. The results: The best image I have seen on this level of TV. This is my third HDTV and of course other family members and friends own HDTV. This is the best picture I have seen from among them. Other reviewers have commented on poor sound quality. That is not my experience. I don't know what they were expecting, but for this type of TV the sound is quite good and it is also very adjustable. Although this TV doesn't offer the most extensive adjustments that the most demanding techies might prefer, there are actually numerous adjustments for sound, picture, inputs, and outputs. You should be able to achieve the exact image you seek. Another thing I like about this set is the backlighting. The room my TV is located in is very bright, with a lot of windows and glass doors. The picture quality is very high even during the brightest periods of the day. A long story shortened: This is an excellent TV that outperforms most others, even those costing much more. I highly recommend the TV, the service, and of course, how well and quickly Amazon got the product to to me.

Motion Focus Technology
Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 60Hz video signal input, 120Hz Motion Picture Pro 3 makes 120 frames/sec from 60 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.

Wide Viewing Angle
The wide 178 viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response.

VIERA Image Viewer
It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos right after you take them. Simply insert an SD card into VIERA to display photos on the large screen.

You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects. It's much more fun when you can view them on a large-screen HDTV with family and friends in 1920 x 1080-pixel high definition and a wide 16:9 aspect ratio.

Fine Black Panel
Panel reflections have been reduced to half those of conventional panels, to sharpen images and reduce glare. This also helps to unify the panel design with that of the VIERA lineup.

VIERA Link
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

VIERA Tools
With the new VIERA Tools user interface, simply press a button on the remote control and icons such as the photos or movies from the menu screen appear. Now you can just select the one you want. This kind of easy operation means you have more fun and less hassle.

Game Mode
In Game mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What's more VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works anti-image retention (wobbling) too.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

HDTV Size chart
With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.
  • Minimum size = Viewing distance/3
  • Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

Good as a PC monitor, except for blurry colored text - Seth -
Pros:
1. Menu performance is snappy, no lag when navigating through it.
2. Picture quality is quite good.

Cons / Notes:
1. No USB input for media viewing.
2. As a PC monitor, colored text is blurry, especially red colored texts.
3. VGA input does not support full HD, make sure you'll be using HDMI / DVI.

You will not be disappointed if you buy this TV - G. Dixon -
I purchased my second one of these units from Amazon less than a month ago. The picture quality is excellent! This TV was rated 3rd in the top 3 in this class by Consumer Reports Magazine not too long ago. The two higher rated brands were both hundreds of dollars more expensive . I have seen their picture quality on display in electronic stores and I personally didn't think they were that much better to be worth the extra cash.I can't imagine a similar LCD TV producing a high definition picture that could be noticably superior than the one this model produces. I found the input connectors quite sufficient for my needs. In my living room I have this unit connected to a DVD Player, a Roku wifi receiver for streaming Netflix movies and a Verizon Fios High definition digital receiver. They are all using HDMI connecting wires so there is absolutly no clutter behind the TV. I have an optical cable connecting this TV to my Yamaha surround sound receiver. The TV speaker's sound is as good as you can expect from a flat screen because the speakers in all these models have to be small to keep the TV's dimemsions as narrow as possible. If you are not happy with the level of audio quality from the TV speakers you probably are the type of person who is going to hook this TV up to a surround AV receiver so this will not be an issue that is a deal breaker.
For it's price there is nothing better....period.

Excellent TV - R. White - Greenbelt, MD
This is my 2nd Panasonic Viera LCD TV. I recently bought the 50" Viera LCD for my living room about 6 months ago and must say I am very impressed by the quality. I decided to get this 32" for my bedroom and it was a no-brainer considering I have no problems with the 50" in my living room. The quality is top notch and very easy set-up. The HD picture is incredibly crisp and clear with no problems whatsoever. If you are shopping around, I dont know if you can find one as good as this one, in my opinion. I never had a plasma type TV but I cant imagine the quality of those would be any better then this Panasonic LCD.

Great Price Panasonic TC-L37G1 for $749.87

Panasonic VIERA G1 Series TC-L37G1 37-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV Review

Went off the reviews here after looking at other lcd tv's so far very impressed.I ordered the TV throught amazon when they had the superbowl sale and the shipping from amazon to the delivery was excellent. The TV arrived 2 days before the superbowl the delivery service amazon uses will call you to set up a delivery time.Out the box no dead pixels and setup was very easy to where you did not even need to read the instructions. The tv guides you through on which buttons to press for setup.HD channels look awesome watched the Superbowl in HD and now watching Nascar season in HD.The size of the tv was also perfect I live in an apartment and went off amazon's recommended feet and inches by viewing distance.DVD movies also look good.No problems with motion blur at all watching dvd's or regular tv shows. On feature I was impressed with is the internal speakers how they put out good sound.I have a surround sound system I like watching movies with and some shows on TV that sound good on surround sound. But, if you don't want to turn on the surround sound and watch a news broadcast or watch tv with the internal speakers the sound from the tv does not disapoint.Another good point about this tv is how light it was.I was able to lift the tv by myself and place on my TV stand with no strain at all.My last TV was an early Samsung HD 30 inch tube tv that was heavy and that tv was a 2 person lift when you needed to move it.To be able to move a 37 inch LCD tv and don't need to bother the neighbor for help or if you need to do any cleaning is great!!!

AWESOME CHOICE!!!!!! - B. D. Blank - KELLER, TEXAS, US
I bought this TV after months of research and monitoring reviews, this is the best 37 inch TV on the market.

Check Out Panasonic TC-L32C22 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV for Too low to display

Great Price Panasonic TC-L32S1 for Too low to display

No Problem With Sound - Michael A. Roman - Chicago, IL
I almost didn't purchase this product because of other reviews that warned of "poor" sound. I have found wonderful sound levels for our 1200 sq foot
living room area. The sound from the TV speakers is more than we need. So, Panasonic must have solved whatever problem there was in earlier production models.

Great TV!
